I had all this great post all in the system ready to post, but then my computer crashed. I blame you, dear reader. For punishment, there will be no posting for you today. Nothing. Why didn't you like my live-blogging post? I thought it was so funny. Sure, I may have been 1/2 drunk when I wrote it. Whatever. I was all eager to see what y'all had put in the comments only to find that none of you had deigned to put anything in there. Great. Thanks.
Eat crap and die.
When I write a post on my blog and no one comments, I just assume my readers are so awestruck by the brilliance of my writing that they fear anything they write in the comment box will just make them look worse by comparison.
Or, sometimes I figure the power of my ideas is such that they take over the brain of anyone reading them, flushing out any independent thoughts that may have had a tenuous hold in there before they starting drinking in my thinking.
So I don't feel so bad when I don't get comments.

Y'see, half drunk might have been the problem. Next time go the rest of the way I think - in fact, set up your laptop ready so that if you have one of those waking-up-at-4am-desperate-for-water moments, you can live blog about the early onset of a hangover. Think of the scientific interest.

I think Blimpish has almost the right idea -- you, the Misspent One, should be half-drunk, and the blogreaders (the rest of us) should be half-drunk. Together we'd make one complete drunk, and, mirabile dictu, your post would seem funny.
