Woe is me. Winter has left us for at least a little while! I am walking around without a coat on. The poor dear is slumped in my office chair and cries a little when I go out to class or to grab lunch or to get a coffee or other liquid pick-me-up. I can hear its whimpers even now.
As I type I am looking at my little Weather Channel Firefox plug-in and it is telling me that the temperature is now 13 degrees Celsius. Why do I have my temperature in Celsius? I am doing this so I learn what Celsius means for when I spend any time in Europe, which I hope will become a regular occurrence. I don't have any way to judge between 5 degrees Celsius or 10 degrees Celsius, so I am slowly learning. So what is 13 degrees Celsius in our trusty Fahrenheit scale? Between 55 and 56 degrees.
NO WAY!
It was 22 here today. Wine on the porch weather.

GET OUT
Posted by: Misspent | 22 February 2007 at 05:30
Well, if you insist. It's so warm and sunny that I've been tempted to leave work for hours now.
Posted by: Khaki | 22 February 2007 at 05:33
Misspent, what did I miss on idol?
Posted by: Card's wife | 22 February 2007 at 07:56
You're asking him? He never recognized my greatness, so his opinion can't be trusted.

King, I'm putting my money behind Chris Sligh. How did he do last night?
Posted by: Card's wife | 22 February 2007 at 08:27
Not well enough for me to remember exactly. He needs to ditch the wigglefro and soul patch. Then maybe I could focus better.
Posted by: King Taylor | 22 February 2007 at 08:36
Remember King, he is from Alabama.
Posted by: Card's wife | 22 February 2007 at 08:54
No, he's not. As if that would matter.
Posted by: King Taylor | 22 February 2007 at 08:58
Oh I thought he was. Sorry.
Posted by: Card's wife | 22 February 2007 at 09:06
I take comfort in knowing that the wigglefro and soul patch are South Carolina to the core.
Posted by: King Taylor | 22 February 2007 at 09:07
The men did not bring their game. Your friend Sligh gave it to Simon pretty good. They seemed to like the bald guy a lot. As much as I hate to say it, my favorite gent so far might be that beatbox guy, even though he did not hit the falsetto. But more after I watch the ladies tonight.

Frankly, I have been to busy with schoolwork to give American Idol the attention and thought that it deserves.

Here at the King Taylor Estate we put our money and our love on LaKisha. We wonder how Alaina could have gotten past the judges, as she is the worst Chrissie Hynde impersonator EVAH. The King reminders Miss Hynde in her original flowering (yes, he's older than he looks) and can't tolerate any pretenders.

You're always right, King.
I think I'll go out and buy one of your albums today. That new live one.
Posted by: Card | 22 February 2007 at 21:55
BTW, I really don't like this EU-UN-style Celsius stuff. It's like metrics and soccer --all the crap that should have disappeared after Ronald Reagan had beaten the commies.
I understand your desire to prepare yourself, etc., but I think we should promote responsible Anglo-American traditions whenever possible --and denigrate all this happy-go-lucky one worldism rubbish.
Posted by: Card | 22 February 2007 at 22:08
Way.
Posted by: Khaki | 23 February 2007 at 04:53
Khaki, you're right about LaKisha. She reminds me of Jennifer Hudson and look what happened to her.
Posted by: Card's wife | 23 February 2007 at 07:13
Please let it be noted that it was I, the King, who opined about LaKisha. Whoever this Khaki person is, I have no reason to think he or she knows anything about music.
And I would have to argue that LaKisha keeps it Much More Real than Ms Hudson. Let's hope it stays that way.

Thank goodness they got rid of the barefoot guy. Anybody who attempts to channel George Michael by looking at his bare feet and singing "guilty feet ain't got no rhythm" has GOT TO GO.
Posted by: King Taylor | 23 February 2007 at 09:18
The King can't believe that America didn't vote off that wretch Alaina. Except that Nicole was also awful. Choices, choices...
Posted by: King Taylor | 23 February 2007 at 09:51
Misspent, I found a restaurant in Chicago that had foie gras listed right on the menu. I guess they're not afraid of that $500 fine.
Posted by: Card's wife | 24 February 2007 at 05:55
King, did you vote last night?
Posted by: Card's wife | 01 March 2007 at 05:48
Ixnay. Nobody worth voting for.
Posted by: King Taylor | 01 March 2007 at 06:27
You have to admit that compared to last week, the guys brought it. While a lot of them weren't fantastic, most of them were head and shoulders above their performance last week. I REALLY don't like watching the skinny indian kid.
