No?  I am something of one.  But evidently not a lot of Slovenes are, since this band "Atomik Harmonik" only came in third in the state level Eurovision contest last year.

America, I am Disappointed in You Once Again

OK people.  Once again I am mad at you.  No, I am LIVID.  But first, why was that guy out there with Gwen Stefani?  He didn't do ANYTHING other than run around with his hands in the air and his pants falling down.  OK, I am just ready to give up on America after this crap with Sanjaya.  WHY are people voting for him?  I know there is the whole cynical crap that people vote for the worst, but I can't imagine that is what is carrying him along.  The teenybopper vote can't be all of it either since Blake and Chris R. must get at least some of it.

What was Paula Abdul wearing? 

That said, I predicted two of the bottom three.  Haley and Sligh.  Phil being there was a surprise since I would have pegged him as number five, being above Sanjaya.  So it wasn't surprising that he got to sit back down.  But now he is on notice, like Chris was last week.  Although I thought that if Sanjaya was in the bottom two  it would be him and Haley, I cannot say I am surprised that it is Sligh that left, especially after reading my thoughts from last night.  Still.  America.  SanJAYA????

Continuing with the Music Theme

Interested in a little Misspent music update?  Well, what can I say.  The album in the most heavy rotation in my iPod right now is Beste Welt, by Finkenauer.  This is German, so I suppose you won't be interested in hearing anything more about it, so I will just say that it is really good stuff.

For those of you who tend away from things German, there is the new Shins album.  I wasn't sure what the think of it at first, but now I kind of like it.  Whether they would be able to hold up their "quirky" act across three albums was a question of some doubt.  But, if I'm not confident enough to say that they delivered, I can say that they didn't fail on this front. 

I've been listening to the new Decembrists album as well.  Love it.

Aqualung has a new CD as well.  This is the ultimate in bedwetter music.  Haven't listened to it too much--I've been too hectic to give it the kind of downtime listen that it requires--so I will refrain from saying anything strongly about it at this time.

Kaiser Chiefs have a new one that I just got.  Haven't listened to it yet, but hope it is good.  More later.

Monday Night Spent Right

So tonight I am working quietly on some papers, plugging away as a man in my position is want to do.  In the background I am playing Fiddler on the Roof.  I am also drinking cranberry juice and seltzer water, for a nice tangy fizz.  I had some a variant on beef stroganoff for dinner and for dessert had a little bit of chocolate pudding.  This is not a terrible way to spend a Monday evening.

I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN TAKE THIS ANY LONGER.  WHY WAS SANJAYA NOT IN THE BOTTOM TWO???  WHY WAS CHRIS RICHARDSON IN THE BOTTOM TWO????  SERIOUSLY PEOPLE WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON????????  THERE IS NO WAY STEPHANIE DESERVED TO GO THIS WEEK!!

I AM REALLY MAD NOW BECAUSE SANJAYA WILL BE GOING ON THE TOP 10 TOUR AT THE END OF THE SEASON AND HE IS A WALKING (NOT SINGING SINCE HE CAN'T DO THAT VERY WELL) TRAIN WRECK.  I JUST LOOK AT HIM AND I WANT TO VOMIT.
