The Friday Night Charades of Youth

Lucy at Feigning Interest has succumbed to something I will have to admit to doing frequently--using song lyrics in the title of posts.  Generally, if I don't put something in the title the tenor and theme of posts are greatly influenced by whatever song I happen to be listening to at the moment.

I Have Not Forgotten Schnappi

Do not fear that by reminding you of this oldie but goodie I have forgotten my old friend Schnappi.  I will never forget Schnappi.  He is tattooed on my heart.

Bah! They Ignored My Nomination

Well, the Crack Young Staff has announced their first winner in the first Official Vidkun Quisling Greatest Norwegian Award and in their Martha-Busta small talk before the announcement they noted that only two did not nominate Vidkun Quisling.  Give that one of the two nominated Edvard Greig and the other presumably nominated the winner (why didn't they say who nominated Varg?) that means they didn't remember my nomination from their overflowing e-mail box.  Perhaps they were too busy admiring the young lady at the top of their e-mail webpage.

My logic went that Norwegians in general were crap.  I say "in general" because there are always exceptions, but if I were forced to paint with broad brushes against an entire nation I would probably say that they were crap.  This is no different from what my attitude would be for most countries in the world given that I think people in general are crap. 

Since Norwegians are in general crap, it makes sense to give the entire country the award.  But you can't give out that many awards so the award should be given to Kofi Annan.  After all, the last time someone gave a big award to a group of in general crap people Kofi somehow took it.

PS:  WTF, Hatemongers!  Do you know what is on the top of your site?  Friends of George Ryan?  Help support George Ryan?  I'd like to help him to a kick in the pants when he's not wearing his support.

The Mystique is Destroyed

After a few brief comments over the cellular network, of which I understood very little of what was going on, I can rightly say that fears that it would vanish are true, the mystique is gone.
